The staff and deputies at Pct. 3 are highly trained, educated and efficient. Our 15 deputies have a combination of 884 hours of college with 1 master’s degree, 4 bachelors’ degrees, 1 associate’s degree and one deputy working on his bachelors’ degree. That is an average of 60 hours per person. Some have advanced professional training from major corporations or have attended specialized business training in their field.
Some of our employees have been with that office since before I took over in 1988. Except for new positions which have only been approved in the last few years, the only openings have been due to retirement of two officers, one officer leaving to work elsewhere on his own decision and one officer left to take care of a personal family situation. Otherwise, most have been with me for 19+ years. Those officers have a combination of 247 years of experience in all realms of law enforcement. A lot of agencies are not so fortunate. The training, years of experience, loyalty to our office and commitment to serving the public are exceptional and the staff is to be commended.
